Darrowby Provisions approached us looking for a branded outer packaging solution to hold their range of hot food trays.
Rather than adapting an existing carton, we created a custom-sized outer specifically designed around their trays, giving them a practical and professional way to package multiple trays together.
The Challenge of Developing Food Tray Packaging
The hot food trays needed an outer that would hold the meal inside securely while providing a clean, consistent presentation for the Darrowby Provisions brand.
With all food packaging solutions, getting the dimensions right was particularly important.
The carton needed to accommodate the trays accurately without being unnecessarily oversized. This stops the trays from shifting inside the container, keeping the goods safe.
Their Custom Container Solution
Custom Pack Studio’s team designed a bespoke folding carton outer to the exact requirements of the food trays.
Once the structural design had been developed, we supplied the carton specification and artwork template to Darrowby Provisions, allowing their own team to apply their branding and artwork.
This gave the customer complete control over the visual design while we handled the technical packaging development and structural requirements.
The Final Result
The finished carton provides Darrowby Provisions with a purpose-built outer designed specifically around their hot food trays.
By separating the structural packaging development from the artwork, we were able to provide a straightforward solution that gave the customer the flexibility to create their own branded packaging while ensuring the underlying carton design was right for the product.
