Verdant by Benni Clara Fragrances
Benni Clara Fragrances approached us to develop concept packaging for the launch of their new fragrance, Verdant.
The project was initially produced as a small market-testing run, allowing the brand to put the new product into customers’ hands with packaging that reflected the premium nature of the fragrance, while providing a platform for future production runs.
The Challenge
Perfume packaging needs to be presented beautifully, but the perfume box also needs to provide a high level of protection.
For Verdant, the carton needed to securely hold the bottle in place while creating a premium unboxing experience.
As this was an initial market-testing run of just 10 cartons, the custom packaging also needed to be suitable for a small-volume production run, with further development planned as the product moves towards larger-scale production.
The Solution
We developed a crash lock carton to provide a strong and secure outer structure for the luxury fragrance.
Inside the carton, two custom-fit internal fitments were developed to securely locate the perfume bottle and prevent unnecessary movement during handling.
To complement the fragrance’s premium positioning, the carton was finished with a soft-touch varnish, giving the packaging a smooth, tactile finish and adding another layer to the overall customer experience.
Testing the Concept
The initial production run was limited to just 10 custom perfume cartons, giving Benni Clara Fragrances the opportunity to market test the new fragrance and its packaging before committing to larger production volumes.
The packaging has been designed with future production in mind.
For larger runs, the finish can be enhanced further with the addition of UV varnish, creating additional contrast and depth across the printed carton and further elevating the premium appearance.
The Result
The result is a premium, protective packaging concept that combines structural strength, precision fit and tactile finishes to showcase Verdant.
The initial 10-unit run provided Benni Clara Fragrances with a practical way to test the product in the market, while establishing a packaging design that can be developed and enhanced as order volumes increase.
