A box built to the product’s own dimensions holds it still in transit and needs no void fill to take up slack. You control the size, structure, print and finish on every box, so the packaging is made for your product and your brand.
There is no minimum order, so you can start with a single sample or order in volume. We work with food producers, cosmetics brands, online sellers and craft spirits makers right across the country.
What custom packaging means
The custom packaging we make is engineered around a specific product: you decide the size, the structure, the print and the finish. Printing a logo onto an off-the-shelf box is a different and more limited job.
When we say a box is fully customisable, we mean the dimensions are cut to your product, the board weight is chosen for how it will be handled, and the print covers whatever panels you want. The packaging is drawn around the product from the first step of the design process.

The custom packaging we make
We produce a wide range of box formats, all made to bespoke sizes and printed in full colour with your design. The right format for your product depends on what it is, how it is sold, and how it reaches the customer, and our team will help you choose.
Folding cartons
Reverse tuck-end boxes and crash-lock bottom boxes are the everyday formats for retail products. A reverse tuck-end carton has flaps that tuck in at the top and bottom, which suits lighter items like cosmetics and supplements. A crash-lock box has a base that locks flat as you open it out, so it holds heavier products without the bottom giving way, and both formats arrive flat and assemble in seconds.

Postal and mailer boxes
If you sell online, a custom mailer box protects your product through the courier network and turns the delivery into part of your brand. Printed inside and out, a mailer box gives e-commerce customers a proper unboxing experience rather than a plain brown parcel, with the durability to survive the post. We also make gusseted e-commerce boxes for items that need a deeper or more flexible fit.
Sleeves and wallets
A slide-on sleeve wraps around a product or an inner tray and adds branding without replacing the existing packaging, which makes it a useful, cost-effective option for seasonal ranges and limited-edition collections. A wallet-style box folds around the product like a folder and gives a flat, premium presentation for cards, prints and thinner retail goods.
Gift boxes and presentation packaging
For products sold as gifts, a custom gift box adds the presentation a customer expects without them having to wrap anything. Rigid boxes, magnetic-close boxes and printed inserts all work here, and finishes like foil stamping, embossing and soft-touch lamination turn it into premium packaging that supports a higher price point.

Packaging design support if you do not have a designer
Design support is included in the service, whatever stage your artwork is at.
If you have brand guidelines and print-ready artwork, we work to them and prepare the files for production. A logo supplied as a JPEG or another image file format gets rebuilt for print, because packaging needs higher resolution than a website does.
With only a rough idea to start from, our team works out the box structure and the print-ready artwork for you, and designs a new structure where no standard box fits. We explain the technical choices, board weight and print resolution among them, as we go.
You can also use our online design tool to configure a box and apply your branding before you speak to anyone, or book a design consultation if you would rather talk it through first.
Custom packaging for Scotland’s industries
We make packaging for food and drink producers, distilleries, cosmetics brands and online sellers across Scotland. Each sector sets its own demands, from food-contact safety to the finish a premium carton needs.
Food and drink
Scotland’s food and drink sector is large and competitive, and food packaging has to be safe for contact with the product as well as attractive on a shelf. We hold BRC Global Packaging certification at High Hygiene level, so our food packaging is made under controlled, traceable conditions that retailers check before they list a product.
Whisky and craft spirits
We produce printed bottle boxes and presentation packaging for whisky distilleries and craft spirits makers, with finishes such as foil, embossing and soft-touch lamination. The no minimum order policy lets a distillery print a short run for a limited release without committing to high volumes.
Cosmetics and beauty
We make printed cartons for skincare, haircare and beauty brands, with finishes such as soft-touch lamination, foil and embossing. Cosmetic packaging has to protect fragile glass and compacts and look right on a shelf, and the finish does much of that work.
E-commerce and subscription brands
We make branded mailer boxes, printed tissue and fitted inserts for online sellers and subscription brands. Packaging cut to the product keeps it safe through the post and cuts the cost of damage and returns. A printed box also gives the customer something better than a plain parcel to open.
A packaging supplier based in Scotland
We manufacture everything at our facility in Irvine, in Ayrshire. For businesses across the Central Belt and the rest of Scotland, that keeps lead times short and delivery costs down.
You can visit the Irvine factory to see a proof in person, and reach the team on a local number when something needs sorting. We deliver across Scotland and the rest of the UK, so a business in Inverness or Dumfries gets the same turnaround as one twenty minutes from the factory.
Custom Pack Studio is part of KennedySmith (Press) Ltd, a packaging manufacturer that has produced print and packaging in Scotland since 1997. Your boxes are made by that team, on their presses, so the print and the finish meet the standard of an established manufacturer. You see a proof, and a sample where the format needs one, before anything is produced in full.
Sustainable packaging as standard
Every box we make is 100% recyclable, and the recyclability comes from the board itself. Our board and paper carry FSC and PEFC certification, so every sheet can be traced through an audited chain back to responsibly managed forests.
Corrugated board, used in mailer and shipping formats, is durable, protective and among the most widely recycled packaging materials in the UK. We are cutting single-use plastic and EPS (expanded polystyrene, the white foam often used as void fill) across our processes, because those materials are hard to recycle and create environmental issues at the end of their life. Where a design allows, we suggest reusable or paper-based, eco-friendly protection and design out waste instead.
For businesses that want to show customers a credible sustainability story, we print FSC and PEFC logos onto the packaging and provide the documentation to back it up. You can read more on our environmental page.
Order one box or ten thousand
Custom packaging usually carries a minimum order of 500 or 1,000 units. For a business testing a new product, or printing a short seasonal range, that means paying for stock and storage before you know the product sells.
We set no minimum order at all, so you choose the quantity, from a single box to a run of ten thousand, and a small first run becomes a low-risk way to test the market. We confirm pricing in writing at any quantity before production begins, and reorders use the same artwork, so scaling up does not mean redesigning the packaging.

Custom packaging Scotland FAQ
What counts as custom packaging?
Custom packaging is built to the dimensions and specification of your product. The size, board weight, structure, print and finish are all set for what you are packing, so the box fits properly and carries your brand. A logo added to an off-the-shelf box is personalised packaging. Full custom packaging is designed from the product up.
Is there a minimum order?
No. You can order a single box or several thousand, and there is no minimum on any format. That suits small independent makers and anyone launching or trialling a product. Pricing scales with quantity, and you get a written quote before production.
Do you deliver across Scotland?
We manufacture in Irvine and deliver to businesses across Scotland, from the Central Belt to the Highlands and the Borders, and nationwide across the rest of the UK. Producing in Scotland keeps lead times and delivery costs down for Scottish brands.
What are your lead times?
From the moment you approve the proof, most orders take two to three weeks, and a straightforward carton can be faster. If you have a fixed deadline, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm whether it can be met.
Can you help if I do not have a designer?
Our team regularly works from just a logo and a rough idea, taking it through to print-ready artwork, and a design consultation is included in the process. You can also use the online design tool to make a start yourself and hand it over when you are ready.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Every box is 100% recyclable and made from FSC and PEFC certified board. We avoid plastic laminates and coatings that would stop a box being recycled, unless food safety calls for it, and we talk you through the options first.
