KennedySmith (Press) Ltd, our parent company, has been producing print and packaging since 1997.
Our work today holds BRC Global Packaging accreditation at High Hygiene level, and uses FSC and PEFC sourced materials throughout.
Nothing we produce carries a minimum order, so a Yorkshire business ordering its first hundred units buys on the same terms as one ordering ten thousand.
What custom packaging covers
Printing your logo onto a box that already exists in a supplier’s catalogue counts as personalised packaging, in the loosest sense of the term.
Custom packaging is a different job entirely: the box itself gets engineered around your product, from the dimensions to the board weight to where the print sits on each panel.
A product that doesn’t quite fit anything on a shelf is usually where this starts: an odd-shaped jar, a stack of food trays, or a fragile item that needs support built into the structure from the outset.
Every box like this counts as bespoke packaging, custom made and built as unique packaging around the product it holds.

Box formats we build for Yorkshire businesses
Our full range of packaging covers three broad categories of printed packaging for businesses across Yorkshire: folding cartons, mailer and postal formats, and premium gift packaging.
Choosing the right packaging from that range usually comes down to how the product ships and how it’s sold.
Folding cartons and tuck-end boxes
Cosmetics, supplements, food items and general consumer goods are mostly handled by two folding formats: the reverse tuck-end carton, which closes with flaps tucking in at each end, and the crash-lock base.
A crash-lock base pops into shape with one push, no folding or taping required, so it suits heavier products packed at volume.
Both count as retail packaging suited to cardboard boxes generally, though corrugated boxes take over once a product needs more strength than folding board can give, in single wall or double wall construction depending on what’s going inside.

Mailer and postal boxes
An online seller’s customer actually handles the mailer box itself, which is why a printed one matters.
Corrugated packaging in this format takes the knocks of the courier network while giving you a printed surface, inside and out, that a plain postal box never offers.
Items that are bulkier or an awkward shape get the extra depth of a gusseted e-commerce box instead.
Custom printed mailer boxes are the standard for e-commerce packaging, and branded boxes like these do some of the marketing for you the moment a parcel lands on a doorstep.

Rigid and premium gift packaging
Rigid boxes, bespoke packaging boxes and premium custom finishes such as foil stamping, embossing and soft-touch lamination suit products sold on presentation as much as function.
For businesses not yet ready to commit to a fully custom box on every product, printed tape, tissue paper and labels carry the branded packaging instead.
No minimum order, from a single sample to a full run
A high minimum order is a real risk for a Yorkshire business testing a new product or a seasonal line, since it means paying for stock before you know whether it sells.
We set no minimum order at all.
A single sample to check the fit and the print quality, a small trial run of fifty units, or several thousand once a retailer has picked your product up all get exactly the same pricing approach.
Fast turnaround times apply just as much to small runs as to a full production batch, whether it’s made to order or ordered in bulk, and scaling up later doesn’t mean paying to redesign anything, since a reorder simply reuses the artwork already approved.
A certified UK packaging manufacturer
Food packaging for producers and drinks brands across Yorkshire needs to be safe for the product to touch, not just attractive on a shelf.
Our facility has a BRC Global Packaging certification, held at High Hygiene level, is what lets a retailer’s listing process tick that box before your product goes anywhere near their shelves.
Sustainable materials as standard
The board itself carries is from FSC and PEFC sources, meaning every sheet can be traced through an audited chain to forestry that meets recognised environmental standards.
The finished box is fully recyclable once your customer’s done with it.
Sourcing the board this responsibly is what turns FSC and PEFC certified paper into sustainable materials, and, in turn, into sustainable packaging you can stand behind.
Plastic coatings only get used where food safety leaves no alternative, never as a shortcut, and we’ll tell you plainly when that’s the case.
Manufactured here, not shipped in
Sourcing packaging from the the Far East usually means an eight to twelve week wait before customs even gets involved, a delay nothing we produce ever runs into.
Everything comes off a press in Irvine that someone on our team can walk over to mid-run, an option no overseas packaging supplier can offer.
Design support, whatever stage you’re at
Print-ready artwork can be uploaded directly using our design tool without needing an in-house design team of your own, and we’ll check the resolution and the colours translate properly from screen to board.
A logo and a rough idea are enough to start from.
Our design team handles the structural side, builds the print-ready files, and explains terms like dieline and GSM in plain language as they come up. High-quality custom work doesn’t require you to already speak the jargon.
For anyone who’d prefer a conversation before any artwork gets touched, book a design consultation and we’ll work through the brief together.
A Yorkshire case study: Darrowby Provisions
Custom Pack Studio is trusted by Yorkshire businesses, and we worked closely with Darrowby Provisions to ensure they got the best packaging for their business.
Darrowby Provisions is a 1940s themed delicatessen in Yorkshire that came to us needing branded food boxes to hold their range of hot food trays.
Rather than adapting a carton that already existed in our range, we built one specifically around the trays themselves.
Getting the dimensions right
An outer that was too generous would let the trays shift in transit and risk the food inside.
Sized too tightly, the carton wouldn’t close properly or protect the product at all.
We worked to the trays’ exact measurements, which also meant less board wasted per carton than a generic size would have used.
Separating the engineering from the branding
Once the structural design was finished, we supplied Darrowby Provisions with the carton specification and an artwork template rather than designing the branding ourselves.
Their own team applied their visual identity to it directly, so they kept full creative control while we handled the engineering behind the scenes.
The finished carton the job fantastically well.
It holds the hot food trays securely and presents them consistently, without Darrowby Provisions having to compromise on how their branding looks to get there.
We are looking forward to continuing to support more and more Yorkshire businesses as we expand.
Serving Yorkshire
Irvine is home to our factory, and the drive from there down to Leeds runs to roughly three and a half hours. That distance holds whether your business is based in Leeds city centre, Bradford, Harrogate or Huddersfield in West Yorkshire.
The same drive time applies further east too, across York, Hull and the rest of the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Once a proof gets your sign-off, finished stock typically takes two to three weeks, and standard UK courier delivery then reaches any Yorkshire postcode a day or two after that.
Firms in Doncaster and the wider South Yorkshire area get the same timeline as those closer to Leeds. Whether you’re collecting fifty units or five thousand, order size doesn’t change any of it.
A digital proof always comes your way first, with a physical sample too for trickier formats, and full production only starts once you’ve checked the actual packaging for yourself.
How ordering works with Custom Pack Studio
- Get in touch with your product details, either by phone on 01294 314 919 or through the enquiry form. What you’re packing, its dimensions and how you plan to sell it all feed into your first quote.
- We turn that brief into a box structure and a print layout, sending you a proof to check and a physical sample if the format is anything out of the ordinary.
- Production starts once you’re happy with the proof, and the Irvine factory usually has finished stock ready inside two to three weeks.
- Everything gets couriered to your Yorkshire premises, or wherever you fulfil orders from, packed flat and quick to put together.
FAQs on custom packaging in Yorkshire
What types of custom packaging are available in Yorkshire?
Folding cartons, crash-lock boxes, mailer and postal boxes, gift boxes, sleeves, and custom-printed tape, tissue and labels are all available to Yorkshire businesses on the same terms. Every format comes out of the same Irvine facility, so delivery timelines don’t change depending on what you order.
Do you have a minimum order quantity for Yorkshire businesses?
There’s no minimum order quantity to worry about, so a single sample to test the print and the fit costs the same, unit for unit, as placing an order in the thousands ahead of a full launch. That works just as well for a one-person Yorkshire maker as it does for a brand that’s already scaling.
Do you supply packaging for food and drink businesses in Yorkshire?
Yes. Food and drink packaging falls specifically under our High Hygiene level accreditation from BRC Global Packaging, and that’s exactly the work that let us build the branded food tray carton for Darrowby Provisions, the Yorkshire delicatessen featured earlier on this page.
What if I don’t have a designer or existing artwork?
Missing a designer or existing artwork doesn’t usually add time to your quote. We ask the same questions either way, your product’s dimensions, quantities and how it’s sold, so working from a blank page rather than finished artwork rarely changes the schedule.
Do you offer sustainable or eco-friendly packaging?
FSC and PEFC certified board goes into every box we make, all of it recyclable and traceable through an audited supply chain. Plastic laminates only appear where food safety leaves no real alternative, and we’ll add certification logos to your printed design if a buyer needs to see proof.
